Riley Projects ("Riley Projects," "we," "us," or "our") is a Los Angeles-based sustainable design-build firm. We believe in treating your personal information with the same care and intentionality we bring to our work. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've tried to keep it straightforward and honest.

The short version: We collect only what we need to serve you well. We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't use tracking pixels or third-party ad networks on our website.

Payment Information. Payment details associated with deposits or invoices. All payments are processed by third-party payment processors. We do not directly collect or store credit card numbers or bank account information.

Communications. The content of emails, text messages, phone conversations, and other communications between you and our team, to the extent necessary to provide our services and maintain project records.

SMS/Text Messaging Data. When you consent to receive SMS messages from Riley Projects, we collect your mobile phone number, your opt-in and opt-out preferences, and the content and timestamps of text messages exchanged between you and your assigned Riley Projects team member.

Job Applications. If you apply for a position with us, we may collect your resume, cover letter, and related application materials.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our website, we may collect basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and referring URL. We use this information solely to understand how our website is used and to improve it.

Responding to inquiries. Answering your questions when you contact us through our website, email, phone, or text message.

We do not sell your personal information. We have never sold personal information, and we will not sell it in the future.

Service providers. We work with a small number of trusted service providers who help us operate our business — such as our email hosting provider, project management tools, payment processor, and SMS messaging platform. These providers are given access only to the information they need to perform their services for us, and are contractually obligated to protect your data.

Professional collaborators. In the course of a construction project, we may share relevant project information with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other professionals involved in your project, as necessary to deliver our services. We share only what is needed for their specific role in your project.

Legal requirements. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Riley Projects, our clients, or the public.

Business transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of company assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We would notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

SMS-Specific Data Sharing Restrictions

We will never share your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in or opt-out consent data, or text message content with any third party for marketing, advertising, or promotional purposes. Notwithstanding any other provision of this Privacy Policy, your SMS data will not be shared with or disclosed to any third party except: (a) our SMS messaging platform provider, solely as necessary to deliver messages; and (b) as required by law, regulation, or legal process.

V. Your Choices and Rights

Email. You can unsubscribe from any email communications by using the unsubscribe link included in our emails, or by contacting us directly. You will still receive emails directly related to an active project or contract.

SMS/Text Messages. You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from Riley Projects. We confirm that no further SMS messages will be sent to you from that number unless you opt back in by replying START. Reply HELP for assistance at any time.

Access, correction, and deletion. You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to request that we correct inaccurate information, and to request that we delete your personal information. We will honor these requests in accordance with applicable law. To make a request, contact us using the information below.

California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have additional rights including the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. Nevada residents. We do not sell your personal information as defined by Nevada Revised Statutes Chapter 603A.

VI. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, maintain project records, comply with legal and contractual obligations, and resolve disputes. For construction projects, we typically retain project records for a period consistent with applicable statutes of limitation and warranty periods. If you request deletion of your information, we will honor that request except where we have a legal obligation or legitimate need to retain it.

VII. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, and alteration. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

VIII. Children's Information

Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
